KISHORE L. JAYAKUMAR, m.d., M.B.A.

Dr. Jayakumar is an accomplished Board-Certified Dermatologist specializing in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He strives to provide high-quality, compassionate care and develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans for all his patients. Dr. Jayakumar is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology.

His areas of expertise include the medical and procedural management of a wide range of skin conditions, from warts and other skin growths to acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Dr. Jayakumar has a particular clinical interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer and precancerous lesions, and has received considerable training in dermoscopy, a noninvasive technique that aids in detecting skin cancers and other skin lesions. He is also skilled in performing various cosmetic procedures, such as benign growth removal, chemical peels, laser treatments, botulinum toxin, microneedling, and other cutting-edge interventions to help his patients look and feel their best.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Jayakumar is the lead author on over 25 articles related to patient access, public health, indoor tanning, and medical education, ethics, and history, which have been cited dozens of times in the medical literature. His work has been published in leading dermatology journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and JAMA Dermatology.

Originally from Pittsburgh, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with honors from Carnegie Mellon University, where he completed his undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences and Psychology. He then earned his MD from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, where he discovered a love for dermatology. His passion for innovation and quality improvement led him to pursue an MBA at The Wharton School, where he was awarded the Kaiser Fellowship. He went on to complete his dermatology residency at Northwell Health, the largest health system in New York State, where he was commended for his keen clinical eye and his holistic approach with his patients.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Jayakumar enjoys jogging on the National Mall, exploring the Smithsonian museums, and trying out new restaurants in Washington, DC.
